Panel in Figure 13 is used as a panel reference in various different panels. The aim of the panel is to indicate the status of either PLC1 or PLC2, which can be defined by a $ -parameter. Background color of the panel is connected to a FW device called _FwProcsMonitor (ref. Additional JCOP-Framework components), which is used for monitoring the external processes. Double-click on the PLC figure opens the FW panel used for operation of _FwProcsMonitor elements.
In case of PLCs, "heartbeat" -parameter of an instance of _FwProcsMonitor is connected to one, frequently changing, OPC item of the PLC1 or PLC2 depending on which PLC is wanted to be monitored. When OPC server dies or in case of hardware failure, this item is not refreshed anymore and this will cause an alarm in PVSS system. The color of the PLC figure will change to red and the status text to "OFF".
