COMPASS
Requirements for F2 inspection
|
|
( These are some points I collected - by experience - which have to be
fulfilled before usage of flammable gas is allowed. )
- each metal part of the installation has to be grounded
- fragile parts of the installation (bubblers for example) have to be
protected (by plexiglas plates for example)
- a barrier around the installation has to be provided, for example by
white-red plastic chains (EDH-SCEM: 45.75.45.008.7)

- safety signs (EDH-SCEM: 50.55.90.005.0) have to be installed which
indicate the usage of flammable gas

- the leak rate of the installation (meassured!) has to be known
- if it is too big (which is the decision of the FGSO / TIS representative)
proper ventilation or flushing by air/N2 has to be installed
- a (operational !) gas detection system dedicated for the installation is
required
- a portable gas detector has to be availiable
- a fire extinguisher must be nearby
