COMPASS Run 2008 Beam in 2008 : from May 30 to November 11 Beam will stop on October 6 due to LHC accident

The 2008 beam is scheduled for first delivery on Friday, May 30. Beam set-up in M2 is starting May 26.

Safety Information

• Everybody working in 888 must take the CERN safety course up to level 2.
• Everybody working in the hall has to get a filmbadge.

Shifts during the 2008 run

• Each person taking shifts must be present at least at one shifts for training before taking his/her own shifts.

  Logbook

  An electronic logbook is used to keep track of all information related to data taking. For the moment, the original is only available from CERN. However a mirror is also visible outside with password.
  The trigger rates can be followed also outside the Compass domain, on this link.

  The COMPASS CDR

  The data are transferred to the computing centre via network and recorded on the central tape system (using CASTOR storage manager). This system is known as Central Data Recording (CDR).
