Minutes from target meeting held February 3 2005 in 892-2-009 a) Alain: the OD magnet was cooled with LHe down to 6 K. Below 16 K the isolation vacuum started to deteriorate from 10^-5 mbar to 2 10^-4 mbar. The vacuum is pumped with a small turbo pump system. The magnet seems to have a leak when the LHe starts to condense inside. With the diffusion pump of the SMC magnet it might be possible to keep good enough vacuum to fill the magnet with LHe. Yuri said that the leak detector should be used from the beginning of the cooling because it is much more sensitive than the vacuum gauge for leak detection. For the moment the rough location of the leak is being searched for. Also the SMC magnet had a leak which delayed its arrival to the SMC experiment. Jaakko: for the operation of the dilution cryostat down to 50 mK a good isolation vacuum is needed. b) Vladimir presented some ideas on how to fix the Scifi3 station inside the reentrant downstream end flange of the OD magnet. c) Yuri showed ideas on how to measure the microwave distribution inside the conical cavity. d) Two COMPASS notes from Jaakko were submitted: Simulations on target packing factor (2004-18) and Polarization relaxation in frozen spin 6LiD target (2004-19). For the simulations the present algorithm needs about 3 days for filling a 60 cm long cell in linux PC. The CERN lxbatch service has a long queue: typically 5 days for a 1 day calculation job.
