Minutes from target meeting held November 7 2014 in 892-2-009 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2014/ a) On Monday remove empty target holder from mixing chamber at 111 K. Close access tube with metallic plug and pump out gas from mixing chamber. Helium leak test target holder isolation vacuum. Fill in 0.8 bar of helium gas to mixing chamber and pump out twice. Fill in 0.3 bar of helium and start to circulate through LN2 trap. Increase cavity, evaporator and horizontal screen flows to cool down faster. Check the electrical connections on the target holder. NMR coils working. All thermometers ok, except TTH5 with one broken wire and TTH7 lost. b) On Tuesday fill the target cells with solid ammonia in LN2 bath. The downstream cell filled without problems and the caps on the cells were checked to be closed. After filling of upstream cell the target cells were shortly removed from the LN2 bath for visual check of the caps. At this time the most downstream cap was not in place any more. An old cap with different material was used instead. All the other new "proton free" caps were replaced with the old caps. Open access tube for target loading and insert the target holder. Some difficulties with the alignment and correct rotation. After loading the mixing chamber at 98 K. Pump out the gas in the mixing chamber, fill in helium gas and start to circulate through LN2 trap. The thermometers, heaters and NMR coils were checked after material loading. Collect target material dropped into the LN2 bath during target cell filling. This material is stored in a sock in the storage dewar. c) On Wednesday start helium-4 evaporator pumps. The evaporator filled with liquid on Thursday. Open the gate valve on helium-3 pumping line. d) Fabrice: during mixing chamber warming up the magnet LHe level was kept low. Restart filling of magnet with liquid. e) Kaori: NMR Q-curves can be seen after target material loading.
