a) On Monday start testing Profilic USB to serial converter for reading the
Pfeiffer pressure displays. This converter is probably using the PL2303X
chip. It may be necessary to unload and reload the driver in SLC6 for
proper operation with 'modprobe -r pl2303' and 'modprobe pl2303'. The chip
does not have an internal serial number and the USB port number assigned 
by the kernel needs to be used for udev to create a symbolic link like
'/dev/pdisplay2->/dev/ttyUSB2'. See

b) On Tuesday unmount the largest water cooled heat exchanger from the
Pfeiffer roots blowers. The internal security valve box on top of the pump
was removed to make access easier. Also the second largest heat exchanger
was unmounted. 

c) Yuri: calculate magnetic field from the main solenoid and end compensation
coils. In the ideal geometry the field homogeneity is good 2.5+-0.0005 T.

In the trim coils the highest voltage point is probably in the center of
the winding due to the protection diodes across the coil ends. 

d) Fabrice: old cooling water hoses re-used for target platform since their
length is ok. New cable trays added under the platform.

e) Fabrice: magnet at 4 K. Quench heaters, solenoid, compensation coils and 
trim coils electrical tests seem to be good. Thursday produce quench test at
70 A solenoid current. Due to the low energy dissipation only 4 l of LHe 
evaporated. 

The power converter for solenoid and quench back heaters received on Thursday.
The power converter disassembled and reassembled. New cables and the DC
current measurement unit received.

f) Kaori: ask quote for new MicroCoax cable UT034B. Not in stock and production quantity now 3000 feet.

g) Norihiro: receive new pirani pressure gauges. See
