Minutes from target meeting held March 1 2013 in 892-2-009 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2013/ a) Take photos of the present status of the dilution cryostat. See http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/elog/target_polar/187 b) Leak test the dilution cryostat February 12 - 19 2013. The helium-3 pumping line closed on the top with big flanges. The glass fiber mixing chamber was not connected and the access tube volume was closed with steel flange. The metallic target plug was used at upstream end of the access tube. Vacuum of 1.8 10^-2 mbar was reached in the helium-3 evaporator volume. Small diffusive leaks were found from the still connection flange o-ring. This was fixed and no other leaks could be located from the ambient air into the helium-3 volume. The leak detector went to below 10^-9 mbar l/s. Pump vacuum to the helium-4 evaporator and separator. One leak located to aluminum L-connection piece on the vertical screen outlet. Otherwise no leaks found from ambient air. Reconnect leak detector to helium-3 volume and fill in helium gas to separator and helium-4 evaporator. No leaks to the helium-3 volume observed at level below 10^-8 mbar l/s. Leak test also helium-3 return line. Possible leaks in the heat exchangers from helium-3 return line to diluted volume have not been tested yet. c) Michael: test the dilution cryostat needle valves NV1 - NV5. The behavior is similar to that measured by Naoki in 1999. See http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/elog/target_polar/188 d) Michael: calculate 2011 Curie constants. Good agreement with Jaakko's values. See http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/elog/target_polar/186 e) The AVS47-IB resistance bridge picobus/GPIB interface received from repair. f) The 6th inverted CERN School of Computing took place on February 25 - 26, see http://cern.ch/csc g) Remove the 48 VDC supply cable from the Jura side connection box for the Siemens PLC T3 substation under the target platform. Store the tape heaters to the cup boards. h) Daemonize ptread so that it is now started as a more general service with 'service ptread start' in linux. Jan: write and test instrument driver for AVS47 resistance bridge. See https://svnweb.cern.ch/cern/wsvn/ptread i) The path from the control room to the dilution cryostat for the microwave guides was discussed. j) Fabrice: all the magnet sensors have been mounted and the coils are ready to be inserted into the cryostat. The end flanges need to be welded before insertion. Detailed planning for the new power supply cabling in progress. k) Kaori: the EIO microwave generator tube matching testing in progress at CPI. Needs to be repeated when the generator and PSU are back at CERN.
