Minutes from target meeting held February 1 2013 in 892-2-009 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2013/ a) Modification of the target loading platform for the Drell-Yan setup was discussed. In the present plans the loading platform needs to be shortened by 100 cm. The limited space could make the craining of the loading platform more difficult than before. It might be impossible to unmount the dilution cryostat from the magnet due to limited space at upstream of the target platform and no access available to the downstream flange of the magnet. b) Norihiro: plan to move the microwave table one meter upstream inside the control room. A new rack for the microwave power supplies could be installed. The microwave guides should go straight through the concrete wall from the microwave table with only bending them down to pass the guides under the false floor. The cooling water supply lines should stay at the present position. c) Kaori: move the PXI crate for the NMR to the control room (now on Saleve side concrete wall). Longer PXI cable needed than what is in use now. d) Kaori: microwave PSU from CPI expected in mid March. Needs to be tested in the control room. e) Microwave generator security interlock was discussed in case of a remote operation. Remote switching off could be implemented with the Siemens PLC. Now the PLC switches off the generators if the temperature at the EIO tube waveguide becomes too high. Also the possibility to switch off by going first to the standby mode was discussed. f) Jaakko: test reading of AVS46 and LakeShore 218 using with GPIB bus with Perl scripts. Now the device reading and database writing latencies can be seen online. See http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/elog/target_polar/184 g) The needs for access to the target platform during the Drell-Yan data taking were discussed. The LHe dewar could need to be checked sometimes by the cryogroup. The diffusion pump below the platform might need some intervention (pressurized air and water). The servo motor for the microwave attenuator did not work always very reliably in the run 2011. The cavity needle valve had to be operated manually and was thus broken. The NMR rack needs water cooling and the initial tuning of the Q-meter boxes. The tape and air heaters might need to be readjusted. Sometimes it is necessary to melt a block of ice with a heat gun.
