Minutes from target meeting held July 27 2012 in 892-1-D20 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2012/ a) Jaakko: update programs in the CERN repository. b) Yuri: possibility to put a small single turn NMR coil inside the target material made of 1 - 2 mm tube and covered with teflon insulation. The coil should be away from the target holder walls. It produces the main radio frequency field along the static 2.5 T field. The radial field is however enough for NMR detection and there is no danger of superradiance. This coil could be also used for the nitrogen-14 or transverse polarization measurement. c) Michael gave a talk on the analysis of the 2010 polarization data. The bachelor thesis is now on the COMPASS web http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/publications/theses/2012_bac_pesek.pdf d) Kaori: the correction factors for the negative solenoid current sign change a little during the run. Thus a small residual modulation is seen in the calculated polarization values. With more careful analysis this modulation could be significantly reduced.
