Minutes from target meeting held March 23 2012 in 892-2-009 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2012/ a) Calculate target cell average polarizations by using variance for each coil as a weight. This gives statistical errors upstream 1.27 %, central cell 1.07 % and downstream 1.01 % for the whole year 2010. The statistical errors calculated by Kaori are somewhat smaller. b) Kaori: produce new polarization data file for 2010 with cell polarization of protons and nitrogen-14. Jaakko: extract average cell polarization values from this file and calculate the polarization for each transverse run number 2010. The median ratios to Jaakko's data are 0.996728, 0.998777 and 1.005. Check also the nitrogen-14 polarization values in the file. Good agreement with the calculated values. c) Calculate equal spin temperature table for protons, deuterons, nitrogen-14 and nitrogen-15. See https://svnweb.cern.ch/cern/wsvn/ptpolaris/NH3ESTpoltable.txt d) Calculate four cell polarization values for 2010. In this case the central cell is split into upstream and downstream halves. The statistical errors for the cells are 1.27 % upstream, 2.01 % central up, 1.21 % central down and 1.01 % downstream. Plot the four cell polarizations for each run number. See the repository 'ptpolaris' for more details. e) Calculate the deviation of each coil polarization from the cell average 2010. The median deviation is below 3 % and maximum deviation up to 6.5 %. See the file Run10/POL2010.txt in the repository. f) The event weighted absolute cell polarizations 2010 for the transverse runs were 0.807, 0.789 and 0.799. This gives an average transverse proton polarization of 0.796. See Run10/trun10summary.txt.
