Minutes from target meeting held June 8 2012 in 892-2-009 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2012/ a) First draft of the 40 mm target cells for the Drell-Yan is available from http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/Drell_Yan/DyPtDrawings b) Yuri: the microwave cavity downstream window could be replaced with a new window and the conical part re-enforced with glass fiber epoxy. c) Kaori: calculate correction factors for the 2011 longitudinal polarization values measured with negative solenoid current. The correction factor is a little different for each period. This could be take into account in the systematic error estimate. d) Norihiro: the trim coil settings changed during the run 2011. This will probably add one more systematic error to the polarization values. e) Artem: from the muon vertex reconstruction the 2011 upstream cell seems to be from -61.7 to -32.4 cm on z-axis, the central cell -26.5 to 32.1 cm and downstream cell 37.2 to 66.5 cm. See: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/elog/2011+Delta-Q+Analysis/2 Comments from Yuri: Dear Jaakko 1. Please add to your message also my Draft of proposed DY-cavity design seen from attached .pdf file. 2. There is an important other consequence from Artem's analysis, also omitted in your message: The effective weight of target material is different when material is loaded in liquid nitrogen (during filling up of material) and after pouring out of Li-nitrogen from the target cells (before installation in the dilution chamber). Increasing of effective weight deforms the cylindrical empty cell into an actual elliptical cylinder. This also can clearly see from Artem's plots. We need to reinforce the cell walls to avoid this effect in a future. Regards, Yuri.
