Minutes from target meeting held December 7 2012 in 892-1-D20 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2012/ a) Jaakko: test reading AVS46 resistance bridge with RS232 serial connector using Perl in linux. See 'ptread' repository. b) Implementation of frequency modulation to the microwave power supplies was discussed. c) Fabrice: dipole and solenoid magnets reassembled and waiting for welding. Insertion into the liquid helium vessel probably in January. d) Different power supply options for the repaired magnet were discussed. A reserve power supply for the LHC magnet could be used for the dipole magnet or a new air cooled switching power supply from http://www.delta-elektronika.nl/ could be purchased. For the LHC type PSU the maintenance is in the renting contract. The delta elektronika PSU has better than 100 ppm stability. One 400 A and 200 A unit need to be connected in parallel to get the necessary current for the dipole magnet. For the solenoid magnet the options are to use also a LHC reserve PSU with nominal 2 kA current, but limiting the output to 700 A and 8 V. The other possibility is to use the same water cooled Danfysik power supply that was used 2006 - 2011 http://www.danfysik.com . e) Planning for the removal of the present magnet control system on the target platform was discussed. This includes removal of the cables, power supplies, quench protection system and cryogenic control rack. f) Kaori: concrete shielding is needed for the Q-meter boxes. About six meter long semirigid coaxial cables can be used between the target holder and the Q-meters. g) Fabrice: demineralized and brut cooling water will be cut from April 26 2013 to May 16 2014 in the experimental area. Tap water could be used for testings during this period except for the magnet, which needs demineralized water.
