Minutes from target meeting held January 28 2011 in 892-1-B09 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2011/ a) Meeting on Tuesday to discuss the possibility to read the dilution cryostat PLC Siemens S7 300 from the COMPASS DCS. Norihiro gave a talk on the present data flow http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/elog/target_polar/107 . The plan is in http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/elog/target_polar/108 b) Fabrice: helium liquefier maintenance planned March 22 - 29. The operation could start March 28 with first LHe produced April 4. Exchange of water pressure regulator planned next Wednesday in the pump room. The helium-4 pump maintenance planned for mid March. c) Fabrice: now offers for new self pressurizing 200 l LN2 dewar from Garbagas, Cryodiffusion and Wessington. d) Drell-Yan meeting on Thursday to discuss technical feasibility of the target platform movement 220 cm upstream. After the movement about 390 cm space upstream of the platform left. Thus the loading platform needs to be about 90 cm shorter. The electronics on the platform and some plastic materials inside the target can be sensitive to the slow neutrons produced in the hadron absorber. The influence of the non-magnetic stainless steel in the hadron absorber to the target magnetic field homogeneity was discussed. Possibility to reverse the direction of the dipole field during the data taking was discussed. e) Upgrade na58pc057 to SLC5 and restart the services.
