Minutes from target meeting held May 13 2011 in 892-2-009 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2011/ a) Reconnect water pipes to the helium-3 roots heat exchangers on Monday. The broken plastic water flow spinners replaced with new ones. New water flow system set up. The system includes an adjustable pressure regulator, an overpressure valve at +6 bar and a control valve for the flow. First test on the repaired roots pumps were done at +0.6 bar water inlet pressure. Also the outlet pressure can be monitored with a pressure gauge. Two water leaks on the copper pipes were fixed with soft soldering. The flow regulation valves after the spinners were checked and used to get air out from the water circuit. b) Leak test and cool down helium-3 circuit LN2 trap on Tuesday. Start helium-3 roots and pump the outlet with a leak detector through the LN2 trap. Spray helium on the different o-rings in the roots blowers. No helium leaks observed. c) On Thursday fill the mixing chamber and helium-3 roots with helium gas to atmospheric pressure. Drain the oil from each of the pump and fill in new oil to the gear boxes. d) Fabrice: magnet precooling with LN2 started on Wednesday. Set small helium flow into the magnet LHe vessel to compensate pressure drop due to cooling down. e) Thermometers cables were connected to the target holder. LabVIEW can now read the diode thermometers and send the data to the COMPASS DCS system. f) Magnet cryogenic monitoring PC that is used to program also the PLC failed again 3 weeks after changing the power supply. New PC ordered. g) Yuri: test new thermocouple type microwave power meter. Calibration can be checked by comparing to the old model. h) Hiroki: install new cable from the control room to the platform for an ultrasonic motor microwave attenuator control. i) Cold cathode isolation vacuum gauge on the top of the dilution cryostat probably broken.
