Minutes from target meeting held February 11 2011 in 864-2-B14 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2011/ a) Shift organization for run 2011 was discussed. Flexible shifters able to assist in the target polarization build up are needed if only two persons are on each shift. During the build up typically DAQ and detector tests are done, see http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/elog/target_polar/72 , and the data is not collected for physics. On the other hand in frozen spin mode more focus can be put in the physics data taking and for the target only the check list needs to be filled. Similar check list is filled in the normal spectrometer shifts for the detector gas systems. Gunter: the task of the shifters need to be clearly defined. b) Application for a CERN summer student was submitted. c) Offer for new thermal relays in helium-3 roots blower control cabinet was received. The same model that is in use is not manufactured any more. The corresponding new relay is about CHF 50/piece. d) Takahiro: new EIP microwave frequency counter send to CERN. Also new AVS resistance bridge for the low temperature thermometers and a scale to measure the weight of the LN2 buffer dewar in pump room. Hiroki is preparing a new high power attenuator for microwaves with silicon carbide and nickel coating. A sonic motor was tested in 2.4 T field. Offer for a new EIO tube about 150 kCHF. e) Fabrice: magnet safety valves are at HSE/SEE Technical Safety Inspection. f) Fabrice: LabVIEW seems to be stable in a new PC. The frequent crashes in 2010 probably due to problem in hardware. g) Yuri: microwave EIO tube cooling water purity could be improved with chemical additives.
