Minutes from target meeting held April 1 2011 in 892-1-B09 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2011/ a) On Tuesday unmount two of the largest water cooled heat exchangers in between two adjacent roots blowers. Two smaller ones repaired at CERN workshop on Wednesday. Water pressure test at 7.15 bar absolute foreseen next week. New o-rings for remounting of the heat exchangers ordered on Tuesday and Wednesday. b) Tuesday afternoon short meeting to discuss target modifications and planning for the Drell-Yan physics. c) Meeting on Wednesday morning to discuss the repair plans. History of the incident discussed. Electronic pressure gauge and thermometer could be installed to the water line. Cleaning of the vacuum volume of the heat exchangers after the repair was discussed. d) On Thursday close the ports of small heat exchanger and pump vacuum volume with leak detector. Spray helium on the heat exchanger. No leaks found. e) Meeting on Friday morning with Bill Bannister EN/CV in the pump room 888-R-416. It is possible to install safety valve on the outlet of the pressure regulator. Bill: damage was likely caused by both freezing and high pressure. The purge valves should be left open after removing the water from the circuit. Fabrice: the helium-4 pump water inlet has a closing valve while the outlet can only be closed by setting the flow control valve to zero (was not done on December 6). In the helium-3 roots both inlet and outlet can be closed with a hand valve. f) Fabrice: leak test magnet LHe vessel for leaks to ambient air with a sniffer. TE/CRG contacted to check that no damage in the helium-4 pump water circuit. g) Yuri: tests on the microwave system and the new frequency counter. h) Norihiro: install new AVS47 resistance bridge. Check thermometer positions on the target holder. Connect the cables to the LN2 dewar scale and test it.
