Minutes from target meeting held February 19 2010 in 892-2-009 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2010/ a) Jaakko: change helium-3 roots blower oil. Restart pumps and pump dry nitrogen from LN2 dewar for 24 hours. Prepare LN2 trap and reconnect cables to PLC. Fill the LN2 buffer dewar. Fill the LN2 trap. Leak test helium-3 roots blowers with leak detector by spraying helium on the pumps and gate valve connections. No leaks found. During the starting of the pumps the #10 motor thermal protection relay (Ziel) could be reset only after 1 - 2 hours of running. The relay could be replaced. Close the mixing chamber with the target plug after cleaning the indium joint knife edge. The dilution cryostat side of the helium-3 circuit was also leak tested. b) Fabrice: LHe production starting soon. The new cold box control system bugs mostly fixed. The helium-4 pumping lines were leak checked to better than 3 10^-6 mbar l/s. Rotation directions of the roots and rotary pump were checked. The magnet cryostat purged with helium several times. No leak to vacuum was seen with a leak detector. The magnet LN2 precooling pipes were remounted and magnet is ready for cooling down with LN2. Neck heaters ok. Magnet safety system checking planned. c) Norihiro: diffusion pump PLC failure due to blown fuse. Start vacuum pumps. Isolation vacuum of 1.5 10^-5 mbar reached. The piezo pressure gauges from the control room to the helium-4 evaporator, cavity and recovery lines were installed. Also the bourdon pressure gauge on the helium-4 pumping line was reinstalled. The previous safety valves were installed on the cavity and evaporator lines. Cabling of the pump room rack PLC and instrumentation was finished. Test helium-3 roots cooling water safety circuit. d) Yuri: remount the microwave guides from control room to platform. Measure microwave power of 1 W at upstream entrance of the dilution cryostat and 1.5 W at downstream. Test one hour the vacuum window. The vacuum stayed at about 10^-5 mbar. e) Kaori: new PXI rack installed under the platform far away from the magnetic field on Saleve side. The rack connected to the COMPASS technical network. The Q-meters mounted into the NMR rack on the platform. The PXI rack connected to the Q-meters. The frequency synthesizer can already be controlled by the new PXI rack. Check NMR coils connections in the 2007 target cells.
