Minutes from target meeting held January 11 2008 in 892-1-B09 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2008/ a) Yuri: new program to calculate TE-constants with Mathematica. Coils 1, 3, 8, 9 and 10 within +-1 % for the two empty target cell measurements. Cross check done between upstream and downstream polarizations. Coils 5, 6, 7 under progress. Comparison with SMC data gives 2.5 % difference. Only nuclear dipole-dipole interaction taken into account in previous NH3 lineshape models. The hyperfine interaction between free electrons and nuclei needs to be added. b) Fabrice: progress in silicon cryogenics. See the technical board talks. c) Takahiro: general spin science institute starting in Yamagata. A spin workshop is going to take place at the end of February. d) Norihiro: shipping the EIO tube to CPI for testing the new power supply. Expression of interest on the liquid hydrogen target. Yamagata has already produced carbon fiber outer vacuum vessel for the hydrogen target. e) Kaori: analyses of polarized proton signals going on. Some of the longitudinal data was mixed into transverse folders. f) Jaakko: analyse TE-temperatures. Unfortunately the 3He vapor pressure baratron was broken in November calibration. The calibrated RuO thermometers have from -20 to -30 mK shift when field is ramped from zero to 2.5 T. See http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/elog/target_polar/17 .
