Minutes from target meeting held September 5 2008 in 892-1-B09 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2008/ a) Jaakko: program to calculate materials in ammonia target http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/NMR/manNtools/nh3table.txt The solid materials stayed the same like before http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/elog/target_polar/64 but the amount of liquid helium-3 and helium-4 changed. The error in helium comes from considering possible cases of perfect mixing and perfect phase separation. Main contribution to the error is the uncertainty of the ammonia density. The volume of the target cells at low temperatures is not known to very high precision either. Buoyancy due to dense nitrogen gas around 100 K during material weighing gives small 0.3 - 0.6 g correction to the measured masses. b) Jaakko: hydrogen bond scalar coupling gives NMR shifts of a fraction Hertz. This can be observed in high resolution NMR studies and gives information on the hydrogen bond in different molecules. A.J.
