Minutes from target meeting held June 28 2007 in 888 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2007/ a) The magnetic field was changed from the transverse dipole 0.63 T to longitudinal 2.5 T on Wednesday morning. Polarizations -60.4 %, 60.1 % and -61.4 % were measured. The polarization was removed in one hour at zero field using microwaves to heat the target material. After this operation the target cell polarizations were below 0.5 %. Polarization buildup was started at 11:00 and +84.2 %, -83.6 % and +77.2 % were reached on Thursday morning. Yuris correction factors were used to obtain these numbers. b) Fabrice: two bugs fixed in the NMR PC Oracle database connection. Now different database logins for the NMR and DR PCs. c) Yuri: SM1 has influence of the magnetic field inside the target making lineshape analysis difficult. However 10 hours of good signals were taken making the cross calibration between SMC and COMPASS polarizations possible. Next the same slow polarization buildup needs to be repeated for the +|-|+ configuration with SM1 off. The cross calibration has accuracy of about +-5 %. d) Takuma: new calibration constants were produced for online monitoring of polarization in the transverse data taking. e) Fabrice: next week direct ethernet connection (without CERN network) between MSS VME and magnet slow control PC. f) Jaakko produced rough field maps inside the polarized target material. These are in the target Elog.
