Minutes from target meeting held March 22 2007 in 892-1-B09 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2007/ a) NH3 target material was loaded to three target cell on Monday March 19. The NMR coils and thermometers were working after loading. No leak to target holder vacuum was seen. The air, nitrogen and helium mixture was pumped out and cooling with cold helium gas was started. Maximum temperature after the loading was 97 K. b) Jacques: JLab has new working polarized target with new dilution cryostat in Hall-B. The size of the target is about 4 cm x 7 cm in 5 T magnetic field. c) Kaori was comparing two methods to adjust the length of half wave coaxial cable for the proton signals at 106.417 MHz. The damping resistor will be increased from 5 ohm to 10 ohm. The extra tuning capacitors are going to be removed. The cable length is about 6 m. The coil to measure spin 1 nitrogen-14 signal was discussed. d) Fabrice: the magnet was switched from nitrogen to helium cooling on Tuesday. On Thursday morning 6 K was reached and the magnet was full of LHe afternoon. e) Yuri: EIO water cooling tubes need to be cleaned and waveguide losses measured. The proton background NMR signal could be measured with empty target cells. The nitrogen-14 is more important spin 1 "impurity" in the NH3 target than the deuterons.
