Minutes from target meeting held March 1 2007 in 892-1-B09 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2007/ a) The 4He return line from the pump room to the target platform was washed with water. The water is removed by hot nitrogen gas flow. b) Error in the target polarization was discussed. Jaakko: the target nuclear spin three level system is described by thermodynamical quantities spin temperature, heat capacity and entropy. During the polarization build up universal spin temperature - entropy density curve is followed. At the highest polarization the entropy density measured by different NMR coils is different. This can be explained by different material densities along the target. References: summer student report from Paul and COMPASS note 2005-19. c) The 3He roots were purged by pumping dry nitrogen gas for 24 hours. The two deactivated thermal motor protections were put back to operation. The 3He pump system and lines were leak checked. Also the 4He pumps and pumping lines were leak checked. The separator circuit was leak tested. The mixing chamber was filled with helium gas and no leak to the isolation vacuum was observed. Circulation of helium through the LN2 trap in the dilution cryostat was started. Isolation vacuum was pumped below 5 10^-2 mbar with 2033 rotary pump.
