Minutes from target meeting held July 27 2006 in 888 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2006/ a) Target was polarized to about +38 % up, -38 % middle and +43 % down cell. Field rotation was tried in 1 T from +261 A to -261 A and back. There was no measurable loss of polarization in frozen spin mode over night including the field rotations. Low mixing chamber temperature around 50 mK was reached after removing 3He from the circulation. b) During night of July 27 magnet LHe level started to decrease and magnet was ramped to zero current. On July 28 the magnet was quenched do to ignoring of baseline taking in the program. The valve box isolation vacuum was pumped on July 28 and with the good vacuum the magnet helium consumption was reduced to half. c) Takeshi estimated material from 2004 unloading to be 344 g. In 2003 this was 350 g and in 2002 it was 347 g. Some material is lost in each unloading. d) The water cooler for the NMR rack was replaced. New air turbines were mounted for the horizontal screen and cavity outlets. e) Elena and Jaakko checked the magnetic poles of the new superconducting solenoid. See the target web page for the photos. f) Dilution cryostat PC was found to be infected by viruses. Now it is temporarily disconnected from the network.
