Minutes from target meeting held April 13 2006 in 892-1-B09 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2006/ a) The alignment of the dilution cryostat flange on the mounting bench was checked. The flange is rotated about 0.5 mrad clockwise from vertical when seen from Saleve side in experimental hall. The rails on the mounting bench are also rotated 0.6 mrad clockwise. The mixing chamber used in 2001 - 2004 was mounted on the dilution cryostat together with the target holder kevlar tube. It seems to be rotated 1.7 mrad cw from the rails seen from Saleve side. With the short mixing chamber to be used in 2006 the rotation was 3.3 mrad cw seen from Saleve. The error in the measurements is about 1 mrad. In horizontal plane the misalignment was less than 0.6 mrad. b) Target holder kevlar tube was glued to the metallic connection piece on the dilution cryostat mounting bench. The alignment was checked within +- 1 mrad. c) Position of NMR coils on three target cells was discussed. The new saddle coils are made from 1.0 mm stainless steel tube (was 1.0 mm copper nickel 2001 - 2004). They are also shorter 40 mm long while in the two target cells they were 60 mm long along the beam direction. The up- and downstream cells have two coils while the center cell has 3 - 4 coils. Possible additions: small coils to up- and downstream ends to check the polarization at the extreme and/or small coil inside the target cell in the middle cell. d) The upstream thermal screens on the magnet were cut and the cold mass/screen position sensors were mounted inside the vacuum vessel. Installation and piping for the additional +0.5 bar safety valve was started.
