Minutes from target meeting held September 8 2006 in 892-2-009 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2006/ a) Norihiro: NMR rack cooling water pump stopped due to fault current or overload in Jura side plug-in box. Magnet downstream neck thermometer disconnected and thus the control system did not keep it warm. Installed a pt100 thermometer on each neck for monitoring in DCS. b) The planning for the 25 ns period was discussed. Including the MD's this starts on September 19 and ends on October 3. Possibilities are TE-calibration or EPR-measurements. Also Saclay intervention to the magnet control system is needed. The planning at the end of the muon run was also discussed. That should include at least second TE-calibration and possibly other target material tests. Estimated time for the second TE-calibration is 5 days. The SPS muon run stops on Saturday November 18. c) The DCCT (Direct Current Current Transducer) 1 A drift in the solenoid current during the TE-calibration was discussed. d) The target info on COMPASS Run Logbook shows -999% upstream and downstream polarizations at 1 T for all the runs. The coil polarizations are however recorded to the database including the coil #4, which shows the correct middle cell polarization in 1 T field. e) Kaori: fitting Lorentzian or Gaussian lineshape to the NMR-signals gives upper and lower limit to the estimated integral in TE-calibration. f) Gunter: oscillations in horizontal screen flow. The amplitude depends on the sign of the solenoid current. g) Paul finished his report on spin temperature analysis of the highest deuteron polarizations 2001 - 2004. The report is on the target web page.
