Minutes from target meetings held March 31 and April 1 2005 in 892-1-B09

a) Stephane: target platform was rotated and 3He pumping line was removed.

b) Fabrice calculated field from OD magnet with SM1 on or off. Email from 
Fabrice: I have to make a small correction to what I said in the meeting
concerning the homogeneity.
- for the magnet alone without anything around : 2.8. 10E-4
- for the magnet at its position on the platform near SM1: 6.4. 10-4
As I already told you these values are calculated for the target cell,
means +/-65 cm around the reference (0,0,0). Only the solenoid and the
compensation coils are included in the simulation, no trim coils.

c) Jukka said that the target material used to be in the clean area of 867.
He thought that the irradiated ammonia that was unloaded -96 could be in 
Bochum or in cryolab. Tapio said that to his knowledge all irradiated ammonia 
has been destroyed. Cryolab does not have any target materials in storage.

d) Werner said that target material irradiation is not possible for the moment
since the Bonn linac has been disassembled. In the earliest case it can be 
available in autumn. Werner said that he will buy the new Finland radical
soon and Bochum will produce about 500 cm^3 of new deuterated butanol.
This is enough to fill one target cell. Technical run to test the material
in COMPASS polarized target was agreed to take place in summer - maybe August.

e) Jaakko asked about possible pulsed NMR testing during the technical run.
This contribution could come from Bochum or Prague.

f) Jaakko asked about possibility to get expertise from Mainz on the 
automatizing of the microwave system. Mauricio Martinez has been building 
such an automated system.
