Minutes from target meeting held May 26 2005 in 892-1-B09 a) Norihiro showed preliminary plan for isolation vacuum system for the OD magnet. A new PLC station connected with Profibus to the existing system could be added. The diffusion pump system and 48 V turbo pump system need to be serviced. The broken vacuum valve on the side of the dilution cryostat has to be replaced with a new valve. Dilution cryostat needs to be leak tested before run 2006. b) Yuri used the field map of OD magnet measured at 291 A and calculated the trim currents needed to get homogeneous field. +- 70 ppm in region -70 cm to +67 cm is feasible. c) Fabrice: the magnet security system (MSS) was debugged at Saclay. The original OD MSS will be replaced with Saclay MSS. First field map with 291 A current was done and the untrimmed field inhomogeneity was about 1000 ppm. This is about 10 times higher than expected from the calculations. It can be compared to the 4000 ppm of untrimmed SMC magnet. The trim coils give 2.4 mT correction field with 8 A current in the center of the magnet. The position of the trim coils was determined from the field map. The OD magnet could be installed to COMPASS spectrometer in October.
