Minutes from target meeting held January 26 2005 in 892-1-B09 a) Magnet PSU cooling water was discussed with TS/CV department. The proposed solution is to have rack containing demineralized water tank, pump and air/water cooled heat exchanger for the PSU cooling. This system can run uninterrupted during 6 months. Similar systems have already been build for CMS. b) Jaakko is preparing COMPASS note on packing factor calculations. c) Yuri showed a sketch of microwave cavity with 3 target cells. He estimated also the amount of copper on the cavity wall for different scattering angles. 1 mm cavity wall would lead to maximum 10 mm of copper at low angles. The microwave guide on the downstream cavity was not taken into account. d) Jaakko asked from Miroslav and Gerhard Reicherz if it would be possible to reverse the polarization with pulsed NMR. Gerhard said that in principle this is possible, but needs a NMR coil with high RF-field homogeneity and high RF-power generator. Miroslav said that Prague group has been thinking such an idea, but further analysis is necessary to understand the problem in detail. Later Gunter said that a crossed coil system for pulsed NMR was tried in SMC, but had problems due to big loop coupling the coils. e) Jaakko proposed to use the trim coils to have positive or negative polarization in different parts of the target. In principle the microwave stoppers could be eliminated. f) The OD magnet was cooled at Saclay to 50 K with LHe. The cooling rate is 1.7 - 3.0 K/h. g) Kaori proposed to use H2O+Fe(+2/+3)SO4 to test the operation of the magnet for polarization.
