Minutes from target meeting held October 13 2005 in 892-1-B09 These minutes are available also from: http://wwwcompass.cern.ch/compass/detector/target/Minutes/2005/ a) Target planning was discussed in a meeting on Tuesday (version A 9.mpp J.Y. Rousse). The comments were summarized in minutes by Stephane and were submitted to Saclay. The planning will be discussed again in a meeting at Saclay on Wednesday October 19. b) The tools needed for removal of dilution cryostat from magnet were discussed. 2 ton dynamometer can be borrowed from CERN for one day (Vlatko). 1 ton hand pulley is in target cupboard. The counterweights asked by Tapio have not been found. The cavity installation bench is now on the cold box platform, but the aluminium plates for supporting cavity are missing. The clean area has crane for 3 tons. Jaakko calculated the weight and center of mass for the target removal operation of October 2004: 600 kg 680 mm above beam line and 4 mm upstream of dilution cryostat center. With these numbers 1.2 kg supporting force with 2 m long lever arm is enough to balance the dilution cryostat. c) On July 25 2001 the new microwave cavity was connected to the dilution cryostat. The dilution cryostat was inserted into the magnet in the experimental hall on July 27 2001 with the small crane by Jean-Marc Demolis and Jaakko. The alignment of the cavity was checked with spirit level before it was moved inside the magnet bore. On July 30 the cavity was removed and put back to improve fixing of the glass fiber centering ring around the downstream end of the cavity. When opening the dilution cryostat and magnet connection flange, the blots were opened first only a little to see that the crane is carrying the magnet weight and that there are no shocks to the dilution cryostat when the bolts are removed. d) The cabling and cable trays on target platform were discussed with electrical services on Thursday (contact: Nicolas Bourgeois). e) The pipework needed for magnet and dilution cryostat were discussed on Friday morning with Laura and welder. The 323.9 mm line for pumping 3He can be adapted in three days. The quench vent line foreseen for the new magnet needs to be finalized. The safety vales and the control valve PV16 are to be connected to this vent line. After removal of PV16 from the magnet gas panel the panel be fitted to width of about 1200 mm and can be mounted on the magnet. Unfortunately the panel comes only same time with the magnet, so the modifications can not be started before like it was foreseen in previous planning. Mounting support for safety valves needs to be done. f) Kaori was worried about the technical run that is not foreseen in the present planning.
