Minutes from target meeting held on 21st of February 2003 in 892-1-B09 a) Yuri presented average frequency shift between positively and negatively polarised coils to be 0 - 5 kHz for 0 - 100 % polarisation difference. Local field is 0 - 2 gauss. The data was shown for D, 6Li, 7Li and proton versus deuterium polarisation difference. The result is in 10 - 15 % agreement with the theory. Jaakko asked why spin 1/2 or 3/2 and spin 1 match to different lines in the plot. Yuri said that this is in accordance with the theory. 2001 coils were inside target material which is different compared to 2002 data with coils outside. Using the preliminary material weight the spin densities are 2D 3.51 10^22 spin/cm^3, 6Li 3.38 10^22 spin/cm^3, 1H 1.20 10^20 spin/cm^3, and 7Li 1.38 10^21 spin/cm^3. b) Fabrice the new IMPATT/GUN diode was received from Bochum. Jean-Marc did not have time to work on the spare Sun: update of the hard disk was postponed to 10th of March. Gerhard agreed to upgrade the NMR PC from NT to Windows 2000 English version. Fabrice requested a special LabVIEW package to be installed to the NMR PC for more reliable communication to the COMPASS slow control system. The possibility to make the NMR PC a NICE computer was discussed. c) Norihiro and Kaori will be in Japan for two first weeks of March. d) Fabrice asked about the situation of LN2. A new 4 - 20 mA control valve to the distribution valve box on the Jura side has been installed. Test of LN2 transfer with the vacuum insulated transfer line needs to be done in March. For the magnet precooling the LN2 inlet of the heat exchanger needs to be equipped with a safety valve with a maximum pressure of +0.6 bar. Also low pressure loss connection to the exhaust gas needs to be provided. The big size quench line can be used for this purpose. If there are problems in this system dewars can be used as before. e) Yuri suggested to make an abstract about the FM effect to the Bad Honnef workshop. COMPASS target is the first time that the effect is seen in 6LiD. f) Kaori prepared data table about target material polarisation to Fabrice, Kenneth and Daniel.
