Minutes from weekly target meeting 10th of July 2003 in 892-2-009 a) Yuri showed the EPR lineshape measured with IMPATT diode with wide current sweep. The signals from upstream and downstream speers were superimposed. Both of them have a satellite peak -50 - -60 gauss shifted from the main peak. Yuri said that the free electrons in F-centers have 100 % polarization when the microwaves are on. The asymmetric EPR line shape can indicate small amount of oppositely polarized material in the overall positive or negative polarization. The satellite is larger in negatively polarized target cell, which may explain the higher power needed and slow polarization build up compared to the positively polarized cell. The EPR line shape could also be explained with nuclear spin 1 with structure due to Zeeman states -1, 0, and +1. There can also be hysteresis depending on the sweep direction or dispersion in the signal. One possibility is to try to Polaris on the slope of the satellite to understand its origin. b) Nicolas agreed to fix the dipole current heater relay in morning of 23rd, when magnet can be switched off due to microwave polarization reversal. c) Fabrice asked if there is need for shifts after beam time. Usually at least TE-calibration is done. During beam time extension period there are still unfilled shifts. d) Isabel started to analyse the NMR signals with Root. e) Kristin installed the Siemens Simatic PLC software for debugging and documentation. Seven pt100 thermometers were mounted on pump motors. They can be read with LabVIEW and their value is shown on the target web page. f) Norihiro showed temperature calibration data for the May and June TE-calibrations. g) Stepan started to check the amount of different materials in the target of 2002 for more precise dilution factor determination.
