Minutes from weekly target meeting held 24th of October 2001 in 888 Schedule for the following week: a) Wednesday 16:00 - 24:00 continue EPR measurement. There are some signs of splitting of EPR line on the negative polarization side, while on the positive side only one line is seen. The measurement sensitivity has been improved since Tuesday. Possible noise sources: microwave guide vibration, microwave generator stability and bolometric drift of speers. During the EPR measurement only small polarization loss of about 2 % on the positive side. When the EPR measurements at high polarizations is finished, destroy polarization step-by-step. Take the EPR-lines at these different reduced polarizations and finally at 0 polarization. This activity should be finished before the beam comes back on Thursday evening, since with the beam speer reading may be unstable. b) Between Thursday 16:00 and Friday 08:00 detune the field of the SMC magnet. This is done by checking the NMR frequencies and changing the currents to the trim coils. Field homogeneity of about 100 ppm will be used to simulate the OIS magnet. Then the polarization is started. The NMR-lines of 6Li and 7Li are taken at different deuteron polarization levels, e.g at 5 %, 10 %, 15 %, 20 %, 25 %, 30 %, 35 %, 40 % and 45 %. Also the NMR-line of 3He can be taken as technical check of dilution cryostat operation. For taking the NMR-lines the trim currents need to be scaled according to the magnetic field. Of course everything depends on how well the material polarizes in inhomogeneous field. c) If there is extra time, technical run of the dilution cryostat can be done after the EST experiment. d) TE-calibration after the full access 5th November 08:00. TE-signals are taken for D, 6Li and 7Li. It is probably not good idea to start the TE-calibration during the beam time, since it may influence the temperature and thermometer readings. The 3He is pumped out from the dilution cryostat and put back to tanks before the TE-calibration starts. The helium-4 level in the mixing chamber has to be checked.
